2007 rolled in like an SD-45 pulling a light freight down a stretch of straight and level track. With the savings from the lower heating bills, management has the difficult task of revising the budget.

Guss Grump, PCR CEO, started by reminding us that the PCR motto is "have a plum," he went on to recommend that the wood rail ties be replaced with new concrete ties, this would make solid tracks into the future.
Slim McCready commented, "that's rubbish, its time to get some rolling stock painted with PCR colors and markings". The railroad has had undecorated equipment for years now that has not yet been painted.

In other news, scenery is progressing, one tree at a time. We were able to find additional weeds to be used for trees this past week, since the mild winter has not yet destroyed them. Hats off to Bob Evans for sharing his scenery techniques and skills.

Last month, the PCR was run by a skeleton crew, typical for December, with holiday and accumulated vacation days dominating the schedule.

This month's operating session is this Friday, January 19th, starting around 7:00pm. Hope to see you there.
